Hello! I'm Luka Šiljak^*, a passionate software engineer with over 12 years of experience building scalable systems and solving various technical challenges. Based in Belgrade, Serbia, but mostly worked with US and UK based clients from different industries and technologies.

My Journey

My journey in software development began over a decade ago as a freelancer, while still having a corporate job as a monitoring and management agent, monitoring deployments and alerts for servers. Working as a freelancer, I learned the importance of understanding client needs and delivering quality solutions. This foundation has shaped my approach to software engineering - always putting the user and business requirements first.

Over the years, I've evolved from a generalist developer to specializing in backend systems, DevOps practices, and cloud infrastructure. I've worked on everything from small startup projects to large-scale enterprise applications serving millions of users.

What Drives Me

I'm passionate about technology that solves real-world problems. Whether it's building auto-scaling Kubernetes clusters for real-time messaging apps, developing compliance systems for financial platforms, or creating APIs for EV charging stations, I love the challenge of translating complex requirements into elegant, maintainable code.

I believe in continuous learning and staying current with technology trends. The tech landscape evolves rapidly, and I make it a priority to explore new tools, frameworks, and methodologies that can improve how we build software.

Beyond Code

When I'm not coding, you'll find me in a local coffee shop on my 5th espresso with my dog, watching YouTube videos about aviation, lol.
